Mike has been sailing since the age of 10 years old, with experience sailing everything from dinghies, trailer-sailers to keel boats large and small, in all conditions.  He has undertaken extensive charters in locations such as the Whitsundays, Tonga , Fiji .

An extensive sales and marketing career spans 40 years in diverse markets including Industrial Chemicals, Electroplating, Precious Metals, Home Improvements, Shopping Centre Management.  Has established and developed a very successful business in the Home Services sector over 10 years.

Semi-retirement has involved his passion for yacht restoration.  Having purchased and personally restored five yachts, each of which has been subsequently sold for a profit, has provided a wealth of practical experience.

A qualified Shipwright originally from New Zealand where he developed a love of sailing, Don came to Sydney, Australia during the 1960's.

Don first worked at the renowned Halvorsen Yard at Ryde before teaming up with business partner Heuchmer to form Compass Yachts Australasia, who during the seventies were Australia's largest yacht builder, designing and building production GRP yachts for local and overseas markets.

After the closure of Compass in 1981 Don resumed a management roll supervising the building of aluminium and GRP recreational and commercial vessels.

Since moving to Brisbane in 1990, he has been in a self-employed role as a marine consultant, having to date completed more than 3500 pre-purchase and insurance inspections.

Don will appraise your vessel and make recommendations that will enhance the sale of your boat.

Blake is our closest connection to American boating. He grew up on the waters of Savannah Georgia , fishing, crabbing, and camping on the many islands off the east coast of the U.S. After graduating from Rhodes College he decided to take his love of the sea to Miami and the Bahamas where he spent the next 5 years working on private Mega Yachts learning and loving the many different styles of recreational boating and fishing that until now only the wealthiest have enjoyed. As a result, Blake has an uncanny ability for finding the right boat for the right owner. Fortunately, he has decided to bring his expertise to Australia in hopes of introducing the latest and most innovative styles of boating to the Australian people.

Blake's attention to detail and insistence on full disclosure to all parties involved provides a straightforward transition between boat owners. Simon grew up in Auckland, New Zealand’s “City of Sails". From a very young age Simon was smitten by the boating bug. He started out making model boats and sailing or motoring them in any nearby waterways. Whenever Simon’s family went to the beach or harbour he loved to study the boats in operation and how they were made. His family made the move Australia when Simon was just 12 years old, and in his teens Simon worked in a boat yard at Breakfast Creek where his love of all things boating was enhanced. After operating his own small business outside of the Marine industry for a number of years, the lure of boat building surfaced, and Simon made the commitment to finance his own apprenticeship. After receiving his trade qualifications, and industry recognition, Simon set up his own boatbuilding and shipwright business which he has operated up until his liaison with Yachtdomain Pty Ltd.

During all his time in the hands-on business of building boats for his customers, Simon enjoyed working closely with his customers to help them achieve their dreams. He found that listening, working hard and keeping customers informed, caused his business to thrive, and gave his customers complete satisfaction. Many of these former customers continue to be good friends today.

Now, out of this love for boats, and his understanding of the importance of good communication with his clients, Simon has emerged into the Yacht Brokerage arena. Although relatively new to the business of Yacht Brokerage, Simon’s positive approach, extensive knowledge, passion and of course the support of all the team at Yachtdomain Pty Ltd, augers well for a successful career in his chosen path.
