This Adams 40 Cutter Rigged Centre Cockpit Sloop was relaunched in 2011 after a complete strip back to the hull, internally and externally, and rebuild of the entire yacht to very knowledgeable owners specs, on what he felt was needed to take him safely around the world. Having completed many offshore passages, he wanted a yacht he could rely on to handle the rigour's of remote cruising both in the lower latitudes and closer to the equator. She will appeal to sailors looking for strength and safety, over the budget builds of most production yachts, and she fits this criteria nicely. Since her relaunch she has seen light use due to sellers other commitments and is now offered for sale at a huge reduction in her actual refit cost. On inspection, we are able to show detailed stage by stage photos of the work undertaken. As you will see from the inventory and photos, this yacht presents in very good condition and should survey well.

|Heading forward out of the deep C/cockpit through the stainless steel doors and hatch, and down companionway stairs, you have the large Galley (more fully described below) to port and head/shower along with the side facing Navtable to starboard. Stepping forward again into the large u/shaped saloon area there are two of the three refrigeration units aboard to port behind saloon seating and the third below the large double stainless steel galley sinks. The saloon is set out in the typical u shaped layout around the mast support but where it differs from most yachts is that it travels fully forward to the bulkhead instead of making up a standard Vee berth. The saloon table is also not your standard fare. It is an integral part of the compression post and can be lowered into place easily or pushed directly up and out of the way below the cabin coachroof. Very ingenious use of space and opens up the saloon area for access to seating. Forward again on the other side of the bulkhead is the large forward anchor locker/lazerrett where you can climb down into through the sizeable deck hatch. Back through the saloon and to starboard you find the guests/crews double berth. This is a large berth and has a direct opening port into the cockpit so communication from helmsman into this cabin is easily done. Opposite here the galley extends aft giving great bench space and storage lockers back into the owners double pullman style berth to port. In here you have the washing machine and also a second electric head behind a door that doubles as a closer to the whole aft cabin for privacy. An L shaped seating layout, with storage above and below as well as shelving and big deck hatch over, complete the package here. Shore power AC unit and washing machine add to the yachts appeal for when you are in the marina. This could also be run from a portable gen set as needed. Saloon seating covers are in good condition as is the remainder of the yacht and there has been a lot of thought put into the work-ability of the internal layout.

|Seller purchased the yacht and then proceeded to strip her out to a bear hull and complete the alterations he was wanting to achieve with the boat. This included redesigning the rear end and cockpit area to allow for the centre cockpit. This achieved a large rear deck area and access down to the water off the stern. She received a complete sandblast even down inside the keel and every bolt, nut and screw have been replaced. Basically, the only original components are 2/3rds of the hull, Mast and Boom (refurbished) and the main sail. Everything else has been rebuilt or refurbished.
Not often do we see a clean and tidy well set up steel yacht that is as close to being ready to go as this vessel. If steel is your preferred construction and you have been looking for a yacht in this size range, this may fit your needs.
