Robert Beebe Passgemaker. "Sea Biscuit IV" was constructed in 1985 by Broadwater Yachts Ballina NSW, to NSW Survey standards. She has benefited from many significant recent upgrades by her current owner, to reduce the maintenance, whilst improving her safety, durability, longevity and usability as a true long distance passagemaker. Designed by arguably the father of Power Passagemaking, and built to the highest shipwright standards, using rarely available Australian hardwoods. Lying at 60' overall, her construction includes four watertight bulkheads of double diagonal yellow wood. Her decks are 28 mm white beech, laid on epoxied marine ply, which has been grooved, epoxy faired, with full epoxy glass non-skid layer over entire decks. Freshly antifouled, topsides paint, and her transom brightwork taken back to bare wood and re-varnished October 2018.

|A well equipped and capable bluewater passagemaker from the drawing board of designer Robert Beebe, the author of the iconic and authoritive book "Voyaging Under Power". The design which originally kick started the Nordhavn Passagemaker revolution. She is a true motorsailer, equally at home under either form of propulsion. She can run at up to 200 nautical miles, day after day, with her frugal and reliable Gardner 6LX six cylinder normally aspirated power plant. Sea Biscuit IV's Hundested C. P. Variable Pitch propellor delivers 3000 NM + range under power.
Extensively refurbished by her current passionate owner, she well equipped for her design purpose, offshore cruising, and is presented in good condition for her age.
Simply..... Solid, safe, dependable, comfortable and economical.......
