Details
There are few boats so uniquely qualified to take two people and their guests around the world as comfortably and as economically as the Nordhavn 40. Since purchasing "Westwind of Kettering" several years ago, the owner has continually kept her in great condition and has updated and serviced systems in the boat top to bottom. Her 'active' Niad stabilizers with 6 sq ft fins tame the ocean and offer a comfortable ride. She is reliable and ready to cruise to the destinations of your dreams. Her owners have used the boat extensively, completing over 30,000 nautical miles. If you are considering a long-range trawler that is easily handled by a couple, and capable of offshore travels, this 40' Nordhavn is definitely a boat to consider.

The Nordhavn 40 represents the smallest of Nordhavn's fleet of ocean-crossing motor vessels. Yet her modest size does not limit her incredible, non-stop cruising range. Thanks to a highly efficient, full displacement hull design and a fuel capacity of over 3,400 litres, a heavily loaded boat ready for ocean crossing will cover more than 2,400 nautical miles at 7 knots. The Nordhavn 40 earned her reputation during PAE's Around The World Voyage (ATW), which changed the way boaters think about to possibilities of economical long range cruising.
But above all her seriousness of purpose, there is a wonderfully romantic, emotional element to the boat that strongly attracts a wide base of seasoned sailors, experienced power boaters and those just entering the world of boating.

"Westwind of Kettering' is a fully documented Australian Registered Ship, with all Import Taxes and Duties fully paid.

She is currently permanently located in Tasmanian, Australia waters. Consider the opportunity to cruise the pristine water of Tasmania then head slowly north to mainland Australia and on to the S. W. Pacific or S. E Asia. The current owners would consider providing their berth (floating slip) for up to six months.

All maintenance receipts and logbooks are available to view. All documentation is available and has been kept up-to-date when alterations have been applied.
