GENERAL HISTORY OF THE VESSEL SINCE LAUNCH IN 2006:

Tipasa, a legendary 2006 Nordhavn 55, was initially sailed from her port of call in the US to Hong Kong. She is a powerful ocean-going vessel with a 3,000 NM range. It can comfortably accommodate up to 8 passengers.
This yacht has been professionally maintained in great condition. It shows unique improvements facilitating life and operations which are fully documented in the technical logbook.
Sold in 2016 to the current owner the yacht was renamed Tipasa after the ancient Roman city of Tipasa in Algeria celebrated by Albert Camus, a famous French writer who was awarded the Literature Nobel Prize in 1957. Since then, Tipasa was skippered in Asian waters by the owner's best mate, an experienced captain and circumnavigator who continuously lived aboard until today, and was in charge of all the maintenance jobs.

READY FOR NEW ADVENTURES

Berthed in Krabi, Thailand, in a friendly marina, Tipasa crisscrossed Asian waters for years enjoying the spectacular bay of Phang Nga and the legendary Malacca Straight.
Internationally acclaimed Phuket, Similans, Phiphi and Lanta islands for their spectacular scenery were also amongst Tipasa's favorite destinations. The commanding silhouette of this Nordhavn 55 is well known in the Malacca straight between Langkawi in Malaysia and Tioman island in the South china Sea.
The yacht also called frequently in Singapore, Indonesia, the Anambas archipelago and Borneo.
Tipasa is now ready for a new owner attracted by Asian adventures, but also ready for an exhilarating passage to the Mediterranean sea, African Coast, the Great Coral Barrier or the Pacific Northwest waters of Alaska or British Columbia.

EASIER LIFE AT SEA

Tipasa sports clever and useful improvements reflecting the experience of the owner.
All the most popular factory options have been selected during the construction, but through the years several smart additions have also added safety and comfort*
Tipasa professionally crewed and maintained since delivery is an exceptionally well equipped little ship tailored for the ocean as much as for safe coastal cruising in style and comfort for a family.
The Nordhavn 55 is the epitome of the brand's philosophy: an owner-operated vessel with the perfect size and a livable interior.
The saloon with two armchairs and the L-shaped settee with leather Chesterfield upholstery reflects the atmosphere of a classic yacht with the flair of a library decorated with some vintage marine instruments.
Stabilisation paravanes may be deployed at anchor for passive stabilization.

A SMART AND LIVEABLE LAYOUT

The general arrangement of the vessel is cleverly designed with companionways and access doors between the interior and the decks.
A sheltered side deck to starboard allows the crew to move freely from the helm to the cockpit for docking maneuvers without entering the saloon.
Up to nine passengers and crew can live together for long periods of time on Tipasa. But rather than space, spaces are even more important. On a Nordhavn 55, each and every crew member will find privacy. With a smart flow between the saloon, the staterooms, the wheelhouse and the decks, the crew will never have the feeling that the boat is crowded.

SOME OF TIPASA SALIENT FEATURES

All of the popular factory options have been selected but several improvements have eased the daily life and operations.
Boat deck arrangement: Open social space on the boat deck. Rather than using the boat's upper deck as a storage space, the previous owner decided
to turn it into an al-fresco dining settee for six with teak armchairs and creating a comfortable social area.
Boat deck cover: The strong stainless steel top frame (which is bolted and may be removed if necessary) and a canvas cover provide shade on the
upper deck and adds space for a large array of solar panel (1000w), therefore reducing the carbon footprint of the vessel while keeping at anchor the
batteries charged with free renewable energy.
The hydraulic crane remains operational for heavy loads should the need arise such as loading a motorcycle.
User-friendly swinging davits: The tender is stowed at the transom on a bullet-proof stainless-steel swinging davit operated by an electric winch. This
custom designed davit system allows the easy loading and unloading of a 12' RIB and at the same time frees space on the upper deck for an open
saloon. Moreover, this davit allows for easier and risk-free operations.
Partition bulkhead: In the saloon, a partition teak bulkhead segregates the kitchen from the saloon. On the saloon side, one finds shelves for more than
a hundred books.
On the galley side the bulkhead is used for kitchen tools and provides a more usable layout in the kitchen. This partition can easily be removed if
necessary. Beside the fact it's creating a cozy classic yacht library atmosphere on the saloon side, a separate kitchen has proven to be much more
convenient and professional when a crew, chef or stewardess is hired.
