Details
Are you looking for a capable bluewater cruiser on a budget? If so then this Pearson 424 deserves a closer look. The Pearson 424 was built between 1978 and 1985 and 225 were built, they were that popular with the cruising community. She has the popular sloop rigged roller furling main sail for ease of shorthanded sailing and uncluttered cockpit. The accommodations are suburb for cruising or liveaboard with two separate entrances, one from the cockpit and one on the deck forward of the dodger into the saloon cabin. With two private cabins you can enter and leave the yacht without disturbing off-watch sleepers. The teak toe rail that always needs bright work done, has been replaced with polished stainless steel and the same with the hand rails. With the great keel design the Pearson 424 handles nicely, but she also has a bow thrust-er for tight quarter work. Come see her now. She is in very nice condition and ready for a new owner.

Accommodation
Having twin companionways on this yacht makes for a very safe vessel in emergencies if ever needed. Starting in the forward double Vee berth you have an infill to convert from twin singles, storage below, vanity sink and storage drawers and locker to port along with a hanging locker, drawers and seating to starboard. Narrow shelving port and starboard. There is a cabin door for privacy out into the saloon. Large opening deck hatch above. Moving aft into the saloon you can notice the volume the designer had built into this 42ft yacht. The saloon table is amidships and has fold up leaves port and starboard. Settee seating is both port and starboard and well placed lockers and shelving behind the seating allow for all manner of items to be stored. Directly aft of the starboard settee are a set of large lockers and its here you find the stainless steel companionway up onto the deck amidships. Aft of the portside settee is the good sized U shaped galley. Ample bench space here along with a large top opening refrigeration unit, storage, and the new gas cooker. The dedicated head/shower cabin is located to starboard of the galley and this has a separate shower stall. There are well placed opening stainless steel ports boat sides of the saloon and galley area. Stepping aft again, you enter the aft double cabin. This has the companionway coming down from the cockpit, nav station to starboard, and double berth to port side. All in all, the coachwork throughout the yacht is a main feature and highlights when availability of quality woodwork at a time when workmanship was paramount over cost savings. Located to starboard of the rear companionway is a locker giving access to electrical components along with plenty of storage. Upholstery throughout the yacht is in good condition.

Remarks
There is much more to like about her and if you have not seen the layout of these vessels you owe it to yourself to come and have a look.
The aft cockpit, aft stateroom with a navigation station to starboard, an enclosed marine head and stall shower, a practical and well laid out galley along with a roomy main saloon. To top this off she has a private forward guest berth with a vanity and small seating area. There's even a mid-cabin companionway for access topsides to and from the main saloon. The aft cockpit is roomy and well-situated with a cockpit table and plenty of seating without feeling crowded, and a dodger and bimini set up to protect you from the elements even while underway. There truly is a nice feel to this cruiser.
Located in the marina for ease of viewing.
